Purpose of This Directory
Durham Region Churches exists to help people find churches throughout Durham Region, Ontario. The goal is to create a directory that is useful, accurate, easy to navigate, and genuinely helpful for visitors searching for local churches, church information, livestreams, denominations, and ministry resources.
This website is not intended to replace the local church. Rather, it is intended to help connect people to local churches where they can hear the Gospel, worship God, study Scripture, grow spiritually, and become part of a real Christian community.
How Churches Are Added
Churches may be added through public research, church websites, local community awareness, submitted suggestions, directory research, publicly available information, or direct communication with churches and church members.
Listings may include church names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, livestream links, service times, denomination affiliations, photos, and general descriptions where available.
The directory is manually maintained, and listings are reviewed before being published or significantly updated.
Sources of Information
Information may come from church websites, official church social media pages, livestream platforms, public business listings, mapping services, denominational directories, submitted corrections, or other publicly available sources.
While reasonable efforts are made to verify information, churches frequently update service times, websites, livestream links, leadership, ministry schedules, and contact details. Visitors should always confirm important details directly with the church itself before attending.

Accuracy and Corrections
Accuracy matters. However, because church information changes regularly, this directory should be viewed as a continually updated resource rather than a perfect or final authority on every church listing.
If incorrect information is discovered, corrections may be submitted through the Contact page or the Suggest a Church page.
Correction requests that include direct sources, official links, or updated church information are especially helpful and may speed up the review process.
Denominations and Theological Labels
Denominational categories and theological tags are used primarily as organizational tools to help visitors browse churches more easily. Churches are generally categorized according to how they publicly identify themselves or how they are commonly associated.
In some situations, theological tags may be broader than a formal denomination. For example, a church may be categorized as Baptist while also being tagged as Evangelical or Reformed.
Because church identities and doctrinal emphases can vary significantly, visitors should always review a church's own beliefs, leadership, and statement of faith directly.
What Churches Are Included
The directory is focused on churches that broadly identify with historic, biblical Christianity. While Christians may differ on many secondary theological issues, there are core doctrines that define historic Christian belief, including the Trinity, the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, salvation by grace through faith, the exclusivity of Jesus Christ as the sole source of salvation, the bodily resurrection of Christ, and the authority of Scripture.
Churches or groups that reject foundational Christian doctrines may not be included in the directory.
No Automatic Endorsement
A church listing does not necessarily represent full endorsement of every teaching, ministry practice, leadership decision, theological position, or denominational affiliation connected to that church.
The directory is intended as a helpful research and discovery tool. Visitors are encouraged to carefully evaluate churches personally through Scripture, prayer, direct interaction, preaching, leadership, and doctrinal review.
Livestreams and Online Services
Some churches listed in the directory provide livestreams or online services. Livestream links are included as a convenience for visitors, particularly for those exploring churches, traveling, homebound, or temporarily unable to attend in person.
However, online viewing should not permanently replace meaningful involvement in a faithful local church whenever regular attendance is realistically possible.
