I can't find my church here. What should I do?
If your church is not listed yet, please use the Suggest a Church page and send us the church name, city, website, and any other helpful details. The directory is growing over time, and we welcome suggestions for churches in Durham Region.
Why don't you have a certain church or denomination listed?
A missing church or denomination does not necessarily mean it was intentionally excluded. In many cases, it simply means the church has not yet been added, enough information could not be verified, or no one has suggested it for review yet. This directory is continually growing and being updated over time.
At the same time, this directory is intended to focus on churches that identify with historic, biblical Christianity. While Christians may disagree on important secondary issues such as church government, spiritual gifts, worship style, eschatology, or baptism, there are core doctrines that define the Christian faith itself.
In some cases, certain churches, movements, or denominations may not be included because we believe they have moved so far away from historic Christian orthodoxy that they can no longer reasonably be considered Christian in the biblical and historic sense. This would include groups that deny essential doctrines such as the Trinity, the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the sole exclusivity of Jesus Christ as the way of salvation, salvation by grace through faith, the bodily resurrection of Christ, or the full authority of Scripture as the inspired Word of God.
The goal of this directory is not to create unnecessary division, but to help people find churches that generally fall within the broad stream of historic Christian belief as understood throughout church history.
If you believe a church should be included, you are welcome to use the Suggest a Church page for review.
How long does it take to update a suggested church?
Updates are handled manually as time allows. Some changes may be made quickly, while others may take longer if the information needs to be verified. Our goal is to keep the directory helpful and reasonably accurate, but church details can change often.
Is every church listed here officially endorsed?
No. A listing in this directory does not mean endorsement, partnership, or agreement with everything a church teaches or practices. The directory is intended as a starting point for research. Visitors should review each church's website, statement of faith, leadership, preaching, and ministry life carefully.
How do I choose a good church?
Look for a church that faithfully teaches the Bible, clearly proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ, practices prayer and discipleship, has biblical leadership, and encourages meaningful fellowship among believers. A good church should help you worship God, grow in Christ, love others, and live faithfully according to Scripture.
Pay attention to whether the preaching is centered on Scripture itself or mainly on motivational talks, entertainment, or personal opinion. A healthy church should take sin seriously, teach repentance and holiness, emphasize God's grace in Christ, and encourage believers to grow spiritually rather than simply attend services.
It is also wise to look at the overall character and direction of the church. Is there evidence of humility, prayer, service, discipleship, evangelism, and genuine care for people? Does the church appear grounded in historic Christian belief, or does it constantly shift with culture and trends? No church will be perfect, but a faithful church should desire to honor Christ above popularity, convenience, or entertainment.
Can I request a correction to a church listing?
Yes. If you notice an incorrect address, broken website link, outdated service time, missing livestream link, or other issue, please use the Contact page and send the correct information. Including a source, such as the church website, helps speed up the update.
Do you list churches outside Durham Region?
The main focus of this directory is Durham Region, Ontario, including communities such as Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Scugog, Uxbridge, Brock, Beaverton, Bowmanville, and nearby areas. Churches outside this region may not be included unless they are closely connected to the surrounding area.
Why are some listings missing service times or other details?
Some church websites do not clearly display every detail, and service times can change by season or ministry schedule. When information is not easy to verify, we may leave certain fields blank rather than guess. Always confirm details directly with the church before visiting.
