Why This Directory Exists
Durham Region Churches was created to help people find local churches more easily. Whether someone is new to the area, looking for a church home, visiting family, returning to church after many years, or searching for a biblically faithful congregation, our desire is to make that first step a little easier.
Church websites are often scattered, outdated, hard to find, or difficult to compare. This directory brings basic church information into one searchable place, including city, denomination, address, website, service times, livestream links, and other helpful details where available.
Another challenge is that many other existing church directory websites feel outdated, neglected, or difficult to use, with some appearing as though they have not been meaningfully updated in 10 to 15 years. Information is often incomplete, search tools are limited, mobile usability is poor, and many churches are missing altogether.
Part of the vision behind Durham Region Churches is to create something for 2026, and have it be cleaner, more modern, easier to navigate, and genuinely useful for people searching for churches today.
What We Are Trying to Build
The Durham Region Churches team is working to build a useful, growing, and easy-to-navigate directory of Christian churches across Durham Region. This includes communities such as Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Scugog, Uxbridge, Brock, Beaverton, Bowmanville, and surrounding areas.
The goal is not merely to create a list of buildings or organizations. The hope is to help real people connect with real churches where they can hear the Gospel, worship God, grow in Scripture, be discipled, serve others, and become part of a local body of believers.
What This Directory Is and Is Not
This directory is meant to be a helpful starting point, not a final endorsement of every church listed. Church information can change, and every visitor should carefully review a church's website, statement of faith, leadership, preaching, and ministry life before deciding where to attend.
We aim to include churches that broadly identify with historic, biblical Christianity. Christians may differ on important secondary matters, but the central truths of the faith matter deeply: the authority of Scripture, the Trinity, the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His death and bodily resurrection, salvation by grace through faith, and the call to repentance and discipleship.
Keeping the Directory Updated
Because church details can change, this directory will always be a work in progress. Service times change. Websites move. Livestream links break. Churches merge, relocate, close, or update their public information. The team does its best to keep listings accurate, but we also rely on helpful suggestions and corrections from church members, pastors, leaders, and visitors.
If you notice something that needs to be corrected, or if you know of a church that should be added, please use the Suggest a Church page or the Contact page.
About Scott Roberts and Team
Durham Region Churches is local! We are not an out-of-town company, marketing agency, or generic directory network trying to cover hundreds of unrelated cities. The team behind this project lives in Durham Region itself and has a genuine familiarity with many of the churches, communities, towns, and people throughout the area. Because of that, this directory is being built with a more personal and community-focused approach. We understand the unique character of Durham Region, the differences between its towns and cities, and the importance of helping people connect with real local churches rather than simply generating traffic or listings.
Our hope is that this website becomes a genuinely useful local resource for residents, visitors, new believers, families moving into the area, and anyone searching for a church home throughout Durham Region.
Durham Region Churches was created by team lead Scott Roberts, a church pastor/elder in Pickering, Ontario, with a desire to help people find churches, hear the Gospel, and connect with local Christian community. Scott is also a Christian writer and author who has created resources for new believers, men's discipleship, and church ministry.
