About Non-Denominational Evangelical Churches
Non-denominational evangelical churches are independent churches that generally do not formally belong to a historic denominational structure. Most emphasize the authority of the Bible, salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, evangelism, discipleship, practical biblical teaching, and local church autonomy.
These churches often reflect broader evangelical Protestant theology and may resemble Baptist, Bible, community, or broader Evangelical churches in doctrine and ministry philosophy. Contemporary worship, expository preaching, small groups, missions, and community outreach are common features in many of these congregations.
Because non-denominational churches are independent, beliefs, leadership structure, worship style, and ministry philosophy can vary significantly from one church to another. Visitors should carefully review each church's statement of faith, preaching, and leadership.
Unlike non-denominational Pentecostal churches, these congregations generally place less emphasis on Pentecostal distinctives such as speaking in tongues, healing ministries, prophetic gifts, or highly expressive worship practices.
